ABOUT LOUIS ORNDORFF

Louis Orndorff has over 30 fascinating years in the Air Force as an Acquisition Officer – working weapon systems to war zone contracts and acquisition management. He spent over 1/3 of his career overseas working with international partners on a range of complex issues. He enjoys leading teams to solve difficult and complex acquisition problems in challenging environments and is looking for more opportunities to lead teams through complex issues focusing on getting great results.

CONSULTING AND LEADERSHIP

 

  • Colonel, U.S. Air Force, Retired, with 30+ years of experience in program management and acquisition governance and policy, government contract management, regulation compliance, Foreign Military Sales and Security cooperation. 

  • As a successful four-time commander he expertly led major defense contract administration for over 300 acquisition programs valued at over $200B supporting all branches of the US military services. Established senior level business and operations advice leading over 1,000 personnel work force executing through peace time and warzone operations.

  • He supported U.S. National security and regional geopolitical stability objectives by providing strategic contract administration for Foreign Military Sales as the primary interface for US Embassy officials, Defense Security Cooperation engagement and coalition partner senior military for over 60 countries across the Middle East and Africa.

  • Led program management, contract management, engineering performance, quality and customer satisfaction for military service projects for foreign and domestic major weapon system acquisitions. Active on-site Lean Integration--engaged in over 30 six sigma/Lean events over 10-year period leading optimized change management and organizational change.

     

STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

  • Developed acquisition life cycle contract management and strategies for the Department of Defense and Foreign Military Sales weapon systems programs, spares, supplies and services across the Middle East and Africa.

  • Developed and executed all aspects of long range large geographic area wartime planning and contingency operations planning for base level and Higher HQ level Commanders to include geographic combatant commands.

  • Executed and managed Joint Operational Plans, engaged with all levels of DoD to conduct exercises in support of strategic plans.
